Shipment Events
Within TVA, each action that changes a Shipment or the status of a Shipment creates an event, which is traced back to the user causing the event and the timestamp when the event occurs. This event log for each Shipment allows the team to monitor the actions related to the Shipment over time, and to understand the work processes, automatic updates, and other actions that have occurred.
A user may not directly create an event for a Shipment, and there is no mechanism provided to remove an event. The events on a Shipment may be viewed as an immutable log of the Shipment history, and provides the full view of all relevant activities.
An example Shipment event list is shown below.
In this event view, the Shipment was created, updated with new items on the manifest, and then prepared for departure. The event history shows the shipment departing a location, arriving at a destination, and being delivered to an individual.
When managing Shipments, the event log is the easiest way to understand the current state of a Shipment, and to understand what actions or other activities have occurred over time.
