Device Details

When a Device has been created, a detailed summary of the device and the current state of the device may be viewed. This summary view shows any position and recent sensor data values received, as well as other related items within TVA. As devices may be assigned to zero or more items, the details view may show a variety of things represented and monitored by a single device.

An example Device details screen can be seen below.

In this example, we see a beacon type of device, and the device has automatic updates configured. The device is currently active, which means information will be processed as received from the device, and we can track the last known position and other attributes.

Of note, this device is assigned to track a Shipment, and there is a reference to the Shipment shown on the page. As the Devices moves and is tracked, the Shipment position and characteristics will be automatically udpated as well.

Finally recent sensor values are shown, and in this case only an impact is available. Some devices will report a range of sensor values, and others have no sensor information at all. If a device does not send sensor data and returns only position, for example, the sensor values column will not be shown.

On the map, the Device is shown in context of a Place that was created in the system. This place is defined and automatically tracks arrivals and departures of devices from the area.
