Device Data Reports
When viewing Devices at the top level, or drilling in to particular devices to view the data report history, the data reports provides a useful historical view of information received over time. The device data reports shows a high level summary of information received, including the time received, the position or event details, and the evaluation of the data report.
As noted, Devices will evaluate information received to determine if the report should be processed. This evaluation may be disabled or adjusted, however the intent is to ensure that the sensor reports are evaluated to avoid providing confusing or misleading information to the users.
An example Device reports listing is shown below.
In this example, a screen showing recent device reports can be seen, and a particular report has been selected.
This report shows a filtered state, which indicates that the report was valid but not actually processed. The message text, Update not Informative, indicates that the data report was not substantially different than the prior reports received, and thus not processed. An example of this is a GPS device that reports the same position over time, and TVA will automatically filter these reports for a time period, before processing once more.
A report may also be rejected if the information received in the report was low quality and did not meet the validation threshold for accuracy, or finally it may be processed if the device report was applied and updated on the device.
