Viewing Item Master Data
When Item Master records are created in the system, the item may be viewed at any time. The record details provide a summary of the characteristics of the record, and provide quick access to historical events, attachments, and other item material.
The item data may be found through direct links in many places within TVA, or by navigating the Item Master Data search screen.
An example details screen may be seen below.
As this screen shows, a record has a range of characteristics summarized in a quick and accessible manner. As this user has access to create and modify data within the system, an actions menu is available providing direct edit capabilities, and other functions for the record are shown across the top right of the record information.
Of note, if the record is in use, it may not be deleted, as other information in the system requires the record to remain and be present. However, if a record has been used and is no longer required, an administrative user may select to archive the record. When archived, the information remains in the system however it will not be available for general use anymore. Conversely, if the record is again required, the administrative user may choose to un-archive the record and return it to service.
