Managing Shipment Cargo
The cargo on a Shipment is easily updated to reflect a range of material that is loaded onto the Shipment. This Shipment cargo may be modified prior to the Shipment being shifted into a READY status. Cargo modifications after this point would be invalid, and the Shipment would need to be shifted back to STAGED in order to make further adjustments to cargo.
Material may be added to a Shipment through simply identifying an item part number or SKU and a quantity associated. Additional fields may also be provided in reference to a new item being added, as shown below.
In this example, an item is being added to the Shipment with the part number 999883332 and other attributes such as quantity, order number, serial number, and other item comments may be provided. Additional items may be added to the shipment in this process.
A Shipment may also be used to move managed Assets within the cargo, and these Assets will be tracked by the lifecycle management of the Asset Management module of TVA. Assets in TVA are accountable and tracked by status, containing Shipment, location, and other details.
An example of adding a managed Asset to a Shipment is shown below.
In this example, an item is selected from the managed assets and details such as Serial Number are filled in from this record. Additional details such as order number or comments may be supplied if desired.
When adding a managed asset, each item is uniquely identified and thus the quantity will always be one for the item.
Once material and assets have been added to the Shipment cargo, these may be updated prior to shifting the Shipment to a READY status. An example of modifying a cargo item is shown below.
In this example, an authorized user may change the order number or comments related to this item, but as this is a managed item, may not change the serial number or quantity. This item may be removed from the Shipment, or the user may choose to click through to view the asset details specifically.
