Searching Assets

TVA provides a robust search interface for Assets, including a simple basic search to search by part number, serial number, identifier, and description, or an advanced interface providing a range of other criteria.

The search interface allows the user to adjust critiera, with the results adjusting automatically, and the columns allow for sorting in various ways. An example search screen is shown below.

In this search screen, the advanced menu has been opened via the right navigation element, and a wide variety of search criteria are available. In this case, the search has been adjusted to General Asset Types that have been updated within the last year. This search is easily changed through the various criteria.

When a search item is selected, TVA shows a preview of the item to quickly provide useful context and details on the item, as shown below.

For this, an item was selected from the list after the search criteria adjusted, and a summary is shown for the item. Recent updates, position details, and other information is provided without needing to leave the search screen.

The user may choose to go to the item directly, or may choose to open a new window on the selected item instead. When working on multiple items, opening a new window is often a convienient way to keep the search selection in place.
